Barbara Weltman (Millwood, NY), an attorney for more than 25
years, is a nationally-recognized authority in the area of taxation
and small business. She is the author of more than a dozen titles
on business, taxes and finance, including The J.K.
Lasser’s Tax Deductions Small Business Taxes 2005 Edition,
J.K. Lasser’s 1001 Deductions and Tax Breaks 2005
Edition, as well as a number of continuing professional
education courses for CCH Inc. and AICPA.

Jerry Silberman has pioneered the debt restructuring
industry for small businesses as well as revolutionized the
collection industry. For over fifteen years, he has negotiated and
settled tens of thousands of debts on behalf of creditors and
debtors alike. In 1990, he started Interstate Department Services
Corporation–a nationwide collection agency–and in 1998,
he founded Commercial Credit Counseling Services, Inc., which has
become the nation’s leading debt-restructuring firm for small
