Anne Isabella Noel Byron, 11th Baroness Wentworth and Baroness Byron, nicknamed Annabella and commonly known as Lady Byron, was wife of poet George Gordon Byron, more commonly known as Lord Byron. She was harshly criticized for leaving her husband. Beecher Stowe took her side and wrote this impassioned defense on her behalf.
