Heather N. Johnson, a teen Alaskan author, began her writing career in 2010 after attending a lecture given by Adora Svitak, a noted teen author and global speaker. In 2011 she began to attend professional writing and transmedia conference, meeting her mentor, Alison Norrington, in San Francisco, California. By 2012 she started submitting her work to several young teen magazines, developed a peer writing group, attended the Writer”s Digest Conference in New York City where she gained valuable training and the successful experience of her first speed “Pitch” session. She also became a member of the National Association of Professional Women (NAPW), and accepted to George Washington University Online High School.
