So when he finds himself a survivor of a ferryboat accident and at the complete mercy of a tyrannical schooner captain, his life is turned upside down. Exploring themes of ambition, courage, and survival, this 1904 classic adventure novel features an antagonist based on a sailor Jack London once knew.
