JOHN HUGHSON”S working life was as a Pharmacist. His formal art studies began at a mature age at the Geelong Fine Art School under Patricia Semmler and continued for about 7 years. Towards the end of this period, for an additional 4 years he studied watercolour technique with Peter Eggleton, who was a fine draughtsman and teacher. John enjoys the immediacy and challenge of watercolour painting en plein air. Although he has held two solo exhibitions and contributed to many others, this is the first time John has produced illustrations for a book.
