The Blue Bird is one of the masterpieces of world literature. Written by the Belgian writer Maurice Maeterlinck, it was presented in the world’s most famous theatres, from Konstantin Stanislavski’s Moscow Art Theatre to Broadway, adapted to numerous films and a novel, later written by Maeterlinck’s companion Georgette Leblanc. It tells the story of two poor children watching a party in a rich men’s house and learning an important lesson about beauty, generosity, jealousy, and true compassion.
