Lao Tan depicts changes of a fishing village on the western coast of Liaodong Bay over last twenty years, reflects relations between human and nature by destinies of two families, and prays for ocean with increasingly depleted resources. There”s barely any wind, and the waves beating against shore sound so weak. Invisible currents are filled up, sea surface is as soft and gentle as unrolled silk, and the waves knock the fishing boat gently, which make Fan Laowei barely feel the sway.
