I have been engaged in literary writing for thirty years. Looking back at these scattered footprints behind me, I often feel guilty. With my keen interest in science and my achievements in self-study, being an engineer or doctor is probably a well-reasoned prospect of life. If it wasn”t for the fate of the Cultural Revolution, I would not have slipped into the path of writing. I think I lacked of the talent of writing and I don”t believe in the extraordinary power of literature. I just have no choice but to write and do it in response to the needs of the times. I just have some depression and dull pain in my heart and cannot give up some repeated thoughts and deep wishes. Therefore, I exclaim against injustice unscrupulously.
