Collection of Li Guowen”s Works (Vol. 1) Long Novels (1): The Spring in Winter (Two Volumes). The main character Yu Erlong was the Captain of Shihu Guerrilla during the Anti-Japanese War, and served as Director and Secretary of Party Committee of a large military power plant after founding of the People”s Republic of China. He came back to town to unveil the unknown cause of the death of his wife Lu Hua, Instructor of the Guerrilla who died some 40 years ago, and find out the murderer who fired the gun behind. Both Yu Erlong and Lu Hua were poor fishermen lived in Shihu. To repay the debt of the wealthy Wang Family, Yu Erlong jumped into the icy lake for carp after drinking medicinal liquor, and almost lost his life. Under the guidance of CPC, they decisively held the torch of revolution, started fights against the Wang Family behind high gatehouse, and engaged in relentless battles with Japanese invaders and lake bandits like dragons and hurricanes. Later Yu Erlong was promoted to colonel of Cavalry Regiment who rode on the battlefield of Liberation War, and then built huge plant in swamp as one of the first batch of entrepreneurs. However, it”s a shame that his wife died as early as 40 years ago. With extremely determined and sensitive class feelings, she had sworn hatred with Wang Family, and threw the head of the eldest son of Wang Family to the second son Wang Weiyu. Wang Weiyu infiltrated into revolutionary rank, and hided and caused troubles to Yu Erlong for several decades in the name of ”revolution”. He dug his father”s tomb, wrote party member application with his own blood, and talked about ”class struggle” all the time. He also caused the guerrilla”s wrong decision by taking advantage of the its thirsty for victory, which almost led to the destruction of whole team. He organized ”Red Corner” in the plant and advocated everything should be done aggressively, which eventually revealed his true color.
