Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. Second – to benefit the woman in the home who would make her own patterns if she could do so without the use of some expensive set system or course of instruction. After three years of steady use in my work, during which time I have made a few slight changes in the original draft, and the experience of others in both home and school work, I do not hesitate to say that properly worked out this manual will meet both demands. Should it be helpful to others, though in smaller measure than it has proved to me in my work, the time spent in its preparation will be fully compensated.
