Sir Thomas Malory (circa 1415-1471) was an English author, best known for his seminal work in Arthurian literature, “Le Morte d”Arthur”, often referred to as “The Legends of King Arthur and His Knights”. This work served as the primary source for the legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table for English-speaking audiences. A compendium of Arthurian myths and historical accounts, Malory”s collection was first published in 1485 by William Caxton and has become one of the definitive texts of chivalric legend, memorializing the ethos and values of the knightly class of its era.
