Joe Davis began teaching police officers in 1979, and in 1983 began teaching report writing in the basic academy for the Orange County (California) Sheriff”s Department and Rancho Santiago College. Since then his teaching experience has grown to include supervision, leadership, and communications skills classes at Chapman University, Irvine Valley College and private seminars and consulting. He is also the author of the Report Writing Survival Guide, a field reference version of this book, and President of Davis and Associates, Educational Programs for Peace Officers. Joe retired as a Captain from the Orange Co. CA Sheriff”s Department after nearly 30 years of service.
