It tells the story of the most successful entrepreneur of Klondike, nicknamed ‘Burning Daylight.’ London based his novel on the life of Oakland entrepreneur ‘Borax’ Smith. The protagonist makes big money in Alaska only to lose it to money kings as he returns home. Yet, his fate prepares him for many surprises: including an opportunity to win the money back and fall in love. ‘Burning Daylight’ was one of the best-selling books of that year, and it was London’s best-selling book in his lifetime.
