Robert Lloyd Fish (1912–1981) war ein US-amerikanischer Schriftsteller, der vor allem durch seine Kriminalromane internationale Bekanntheit erlangte. Der studierte Bauingenieur Fish veröffentlichte einige seiner Werke unter dem Pseudonym Robert L. Pike, so auch den Roman ›Mute Witness‹, der später unter dem Titel ›Bullitt‹ mit Steve Mc Queen verfilmt wurde. Seine Karriere hatte Fish mit dem Schreiben von Kurzgeschichten für das Ellery-Queen-Kriminalmagazin begonnen. Bereits für seinen ersten Roman ›The Fugitive‹ erhielt er den Edgar Allan Poe Award.
Nach seinem Tod wurde ein jährlich ausgelobter Preis für die beste Kriminalkurzgeschichte nach ihm benannt, der Robert L. Fish Memorial Award.
