Wiarda is the Dean Rusk Professor of International Relations at the University of Georgia, senior scholar at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington, and public policy scholar at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. A prolific author, his books focus on Latin America, Europe, Asia, and Southern Africa. His fields of study include foreign policy, comparative politics, and international affairs, as well as travel writing.
