Bertha Marilla Blythe, also known as Rilla, is a teenager whose life dramatically changes with the onset and subsequent events of the first World War. She must quickly mature and adapt to a new normal, while awaiting the fate of her loved ones.

When she discovers an orphaned infant, Rilla is faced with new responsibilities that change her life forever.

She’s best known for a series of novels centering a red-haired orphan called Anne Shirley. The first book titled Anne of Green Gables was published in 1908 and was a critical and commercial success.
