Adam Creed, in Salford geboren, studierte am Balliol College in Oxford. Er arbeitete lange Jahre bei verschiedenen Banken im Londoner Finanzdistrikt, ging dann zur Sheffield Hallam University. Er gründete das Projekt »Free to Write«, Schreibseminare für junge Strafgefangene, und ist heute an der Universität von Liverpool Leiter der Abteilung »Creative Writing«. Der Autor ist verheiratet und hat zwei Töchter.
