This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the International Conference on the Applications of Evolutionary Computation, Evo Applications 2012, held in Malaga, Spain, in April 2012, colocated with the Evo* 2012 events Euro GP, Evo COP, Evo BIO, and Evo MUSART. The 54 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 90 submissions. Evo Applications 2012 consisted of the following 11 tracks: Evo COMNET (nature-inspired techniques for telecommunication networks and other parrallel and distributed systems), Evo COMPLEX (algorithms and complex systems), Evo FIN (evolutionary and natural computation in finance and economics), Evo GAMES (bio-inspired algorithms in games), Evo HOT (bio-inspired heuristics for design automation), Evo IASP (evolutionary computation in image analysis and signal processing), Evo NUM (bio-inspired algorithms for continuous parameter optimization), Evo PAR (parallel implementation of evolutionary algorithms), Evo RISK (computational intelligence for risk management, security and defense applications), Evo STIM (nature-inspired techniques in scheduling, planning, and timetabling), and Evo STOC (evolutionary algorithms in stochastic and dynamic environments).
