It shows that the media enhanced the democratic legitimacy of the EU’s foreign policy in relation to its climate policy and its approach towards Russia.

Cristian Nitoiu is a Dahrendorf Postdoctoral Fellow in EU-Russia relations and Ukraine at LSE IDEAS, London School of Economics, UK. His principal research interests are in the EU’s foreign policy (with a focus on EU–Russia relations, the Eastern Neighbourhood or climate change) and democracy with a focus on issues of legitimacy and participation
