The investigation of cyclodextrins (CDs) is developing rapidly. They are able to form inclusion complexes, a property which is one of their most important features. Among the CD family, a-CD is the most often used. The text of this book consists of eight parts; first, the application of CD polymers as drug carriers is described, along with the use of CD polymers in the removal of dyes and aromatic pollutants from water. The next parts deal with the CD polymers that are used for molecularly imprinted polymers and of membranes. Then, some examples of supramolecular systems containing CD polymers are presented. Among numerous applications of CD polymers, their use as drug carriers for controlled drug release is widely investigated. In addition, increasing attention is being paid to molecularly imprinted CD polymers which are able to recognize solution structures of peptides. Moreover, supramolecular CD polymers also need to be mentioned, among them those of host-guest and of polyrotaxane types. The authors hope that the present book will shed some light on the application of cyclodextrin polymers in the separation of organic species and will be useful for further research in this area.
