To Release Doves on the Plateau-The Peaceful Liberation of Xikang 

On December 9, 1949, Lu Han, Chairman of Yunnan Provincial Committee of Kuomintang, declared an uprising in Kunming. Liu Wenhui, Chairman of Xikang Provincial Committee of Kuomintang, and Deng Xihou and Pan Wenhua, deputy chiefs of the Southwest Commissioners” Office, jointly declared an uprising in Ya”an. Yunnan and Xikang were liberated peacefully. Under the fierce attack of the People”s Liberation Army, the Kuomintang troops under Hu Zongnan”s command were completely wiped out in Chengdu by late December. On December 27, Chengdu was liberated. This book mainly tells the battle story and development process of the peaceful liberation of Xikang by the People”s Liberation Army.
