Christine Horner, M.D., F.A.C.S., is a nationally known surgeon, author, and professional speaker residing in San Diego, California. She holds two board certifications: the National Board of Surgery and the National Board of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Horner was recognized as a leader in her field shortly after starting her plastic and reconstructive surgery practice because she successfully ran a national campaign to pass laws requiring insurance companies to pay for breast reconstruction following mastectomy. Her five-year crusade-the Breast Reconstruction Advocacy Project (BRA Project)-led to the passage of laws in thirty-five states and a federal bill, which was signed into law by President Clinton on October 21, 1998. Dr. Horner is the author of the award-winning book, Waking the Warrior Goddess: Dr. Christine Horner“s Program to Protect Against and Fight Breast Cancer. She has also contributed chapters to several books, including The Fountain: 25 Experts Reveal Their Secrets of Health and Longevity and Chicken Soup for the Soul: Life Lessons for Loving the Way You Live. A popular keynote speaker, Dr. Horner has traveled across the country and internationally for over twenty years and inspired thousands to achieve better health. In 1999, Dr. Horner created and hosted the first-ever syndicated television news segment exclusively focused on complementary and alternative medicine and natural approaches to staying healthy.
