On the Backstage of the Backstage includes major works of Han Shaogong, accounting for about 70% of the total published works. Taking the opportunity of publishing the collection, the author revised some of the works. I have been engaged in literary writing for thirty years. Looking back at these scattered footprints behind me, I often feel guilty. With my keen interest in science and my achievements in self-study, being an engineer or doctor is probably a well-reasoned prospect of life. If it wasn’t for the fate of the Cultural Revolution, I would not have slipped into the path of writing. I think I lacked of the talent of writing and I don’t believe in the extraordinary power of literature. I just have no choice but to write and do it in response to the needs of the times. I just have some depression and dull pain in my heart and cannot give up some repeated thoughts and deep wishes. Therefore, I exclaim against injustice unscrupulously.
