Edward Fairfax.Edward Fairfax has been writing since 2004. This follows careers in financial services based in Great Britain and the Far East that spanned thirty years and a business start-up: the most stressful of all activities.Branching out into writing, although not stressful in itself, is exceedingly difficult and the frequent advice: never to give up is testimony to how much ground any novice must cover to reach a standard readers will enjoy. Edward Fairfax hopes he has reached that standard and that you will enjoy The Angel Strikes.” And this sequel: The Angel”s Challenge. The novice writer must also learn to filter the advice he receives because there”s a huge amount of bad (and expensive) advice out there. Edward Fairfax believes he has bought most of it at one time or another and it”s not until you”ve tried it you realise it was both expensive and valueless. You, the reader, are the only important person in this equation and Edward is happy to put his work before you.Edward had reached the conclusion he was propagandized. Some of the women into whose care he was entrusted as a child should not have been allowed near children – their own or anybody else”s – and that gave him baggage to drop. He was also propagandized about recent history and concludes one thing from it: The winner writes it. The result is always partial, frequently factually wrong and mute when it suits.Edward resents the attacks on his childhood innocence and youthful idealism as well as the cynicism that bloomed in their destruction. He concludes in a time when “the suppression of dissonance” is widely practiced the next generation will become cynical also. At the moment they seem to believe what they are told. But that will change, hopefully soon. The Angel Strikes is part 1The Angel”s Challenge is part 2.These two parts deal with the Napoleonic WarsThe American Angel is part 3. It is set in the Franco-Prussian war of 1870-71.The Angel of Democracy is part 5 and it is set in the near future. It is a re-write.Part 4 is The Angel Returns. It is set in post war Germany and is not complete.
