Elizabeth von Arnim (1866–1941), born Mary Annette Beauchamp, was an esteemed Australian-born British novelist who gained literary prominence in the early 20th century. By marrying Count Henning August von Arnim-Schlagenthin, she became part of the German aristocracy, which influenced her pen name ‘Elizabeth’ and provided rich material for her works.
