 Dr. Ellie Shockley is a postdoctoral fellow at the Public Policy Center. Dr. Shockley earned a Ph.D. in social psychology from the University of Chicago in 2013. Her primary research interests focus on political psychology and social identity (e.g., racial identity). She is especially interested in how cognitive biases, motivated reasoning, and group identities influence people’s attitudes toward institutions, policies, etc. Dr. Tess M. S. Neal is a National Science Foundation postdoctoral research fellow at the Public Policy Center. She is both a researcher and a clinician (State of Nebraska License # 844). She obtained her Ph.D. in clinical psychology at The University of Alabama in 2012 and completed a clinical-forensic postdoctoral residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical School from 2012-2013. Dr. Lisa Pytlik Zillig received both her B.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She is certified in Specialized Alternative Dispute Resolution, Family Mediation, and Basic Mediation. Lisa is a contracted mediator for The Mediation Center in Lincoln, NE. Her area of interest is conflict resolution, including its overlap with the study of affect regulation, critical thinking, motivation, prosocial behavior, public participation, trust, and technology. Dr. Brian H. Bornstein is Professor of Psychology and Courtesy Professor of Law at UNL. He started at the university in 2000. He is a member of the Law-Psychology, Social, and Cognitive psychology programs. He has served as Interim Director of the Social-Personality and Law-Psychology programs and is presently Associate Director of the Law-Psychology program. Dr. Bornstein teaches courses on human memory, psychology and law, decision making, and history of psychology at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
