About the author


Henry Rider Haggard (1856–1925) was an English writer of thirty-four adventure novels set in exotic locations, primarily Africa. Haggard is most famous as the author of the novel King Solomon’s Mines and its sequel Allan Quatermain, which was the inspiration for the character Indian Jones in the Raiders of the Lost Ark movies.
