The Observer und The Times haben seine Werke in die Auswahl der 50 bedeutendsten Sportbücher aller Zeiten aufgenommen, er wurde Zweiter beim Daily Telegraph Prize, gewann den Cricket Society Prize und fand sich 2017 und 2019 mit zwei verschiedenen Büchern auf der Longlist des William Hill Sports Book of the Year Awards wieder.
