Irmengard Gabler war nach dem Studium der Anglistik und Romanistik in Eichstätt und London einige Jahre als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Lehrstuhl für romanische Literaturwissenschaft an der Universität Eichstätt tätig. Seit 1993 übersetzt sie Belletristik und Sachbücher aus dem Englischen, Französischen und Italienischen (u.a. Cristina Campo, Serena Vitale, Philippe Blasband, Christopher J. Sansom, John Dickie, Adam Higginbotham). Die Übersetzerin lebt in München.
