Volumes V and VI concern Dryden’s most involved labor: the complete translation of Virgil into English. Volume V contains The Pastorals and The Georgics in their entirety; the first six books of The Aeneid is contained as well.

About the author

John Dryden was an English poet, literary critic, translator, and playwright who was made England's first Poet Laureate in 1668. Vinton A. Dearing was Professor of English and Computer Applications in Literature at the University of California, Los Angeles. William Frost was Professor Emeritus of English at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
