This story strives to be easy reading entertainment for children, but also provides an opportunity for the reader and the child to stop at various stages and discuss the few ‘crisis’s’ that arise during the story. This gives the reader and the child an opportunity to reflect on some of the problems that arise, and think of solutions, while possibly relating these to real-life situations. This way the story becomes an interactive experience, ideally being read in a full family setting and generating lively debate, relating these stories to real life events.

With this book I would like to stimulate children to:

• Think positively


• Always seek solutions no matter how challenging the crisis might be


• Develop a sense of confidence in problem-solving,


• Have an understanding of the importance of forgiveness


• Generate a zest to address life crises with an open and enquiring mind.

I suggest you read the book in stages, over the course of a few days, which will provide time to reflect on some of the dilemmas that arise. Lastly, let’s try and instil hope, positivity and a strong sense of ‘never give up’ in our children, our earth’s future leaders.
