The story is the fantastic voyage of Phileas Fogg and his manservant, Jean Passepartout, around the world. The voyage is the result of a wager by Fogg and his counterparts from the Reform Club. The men insist that Fogg can not go around the world in eighty days without delays. The men wager the amount of twenty thousand pounds that Fogg will be unable to return to the club at the exact same time eighty days later.
