About the author

Mary Shelley (1797-1851) was an English writer and the author of the acclaimed novel Frankenstein. In 1814, she married Romantic poet and philosopher Percy Bysshe Shelley, before publishing Frankenstein anonymously two years later. Frankenstein remains one of literature’s timeless classics and has inspired countless films, plays, and novels.
