In the summer of 2005 Elizabeth Reilly sustained an injury from a seemingly trivial accident, after which she had chronic pain for the next fourteen years. Treatments of one sort or another – both mainstream and complementary – gave only temporary relief. Exercises, as prescribed by physiotherapists, made little difference.
