Adam Harris
3/5 of a Man

Wsparcie
3/5 of a Man is about Adam Harris and his early childhood years growing up in the Jim Crow south. It is about separate but unequal school systems. It is about being an Army brat and the differences and advantages afforded by the U.S. Army as opposed to local southern
governments that displayed Colored Only facilities. 3/5 of a Man is about the high school and college years that shaped the political and social viewpoints of Adam Harris. It is about activism and seeking to improve the lives of minorities in the surrounding campus and community. 3/5 of a Man is about Harris’ 25-year journey through the U.S. Navy, an organization that trained, educated, embraced, rewarded, lifted up, and ultimately said thank you for your service to a retiring Commander.

O autorze

Adam Harris is a dedicated gentleman who is compassionate, dependable and
enthusiastic about life. Harris was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in August of 2003. When first diagnosed, Harris was particularly disappointed and saddened because
he knew that having diabetes would mean the end of a very bright naval career.
He retired as a Naval Commander in July, 2004. Harris became an A1C Champion in February 2004. This program is very important because it allows him to take the message of controlling diabetes and lowering A1C percentages to
places and people who have yet to receive this information. As an educator, Harris feels
that information is key to helping people get smarter about and more aware of diabetes.

Harris began writing his autobiography in 2013 and he traces his life experiences from growing up on a small chicken farm in Georgia in the 1950s through his elementary, high school, and college years. Harris’ favorite years are his 25 years of dedicated service in the U.S. Navy, and he also shares those rich, historic years in his book entitled “3/5 of a Man”. This is a compelling, must-read American success story against huge odds at times. 3/5 of a Man will captivate, motivate, and stimulate the mind of all who read and share the story of an American hero.
