John Eaton was the first of two sons born to working class parents, who were determined to improve their status to 'Middle Class’ by honest endeavor. Encouraged by his engineer father, John managed to qualify as a Graduate of The Institute Of Mechanical Engineers, via Grammar School and College by virtue of hard work rather than natural ability. However, even though he had achieved his goal of being able to command a good salary in a reputable job, he became disenchanted by the prospect of waiting for 'Dead Mens’ Shoes’and took on an empty Dance Hall. This led to a very unusual and eventful career. He had to learn quickly and live on his wits to avoid bankruptcy in the Swinging Sixties and learned many lessons which he hopes will be of help to people of a similar outlook who are not content to just sit and wait to see how life unfolds.
