This book tells a sci-fi allegory story: "I" crashed into a "cat country" on Mars by plane, and was caught by the "cat people" who lived here. The absurd life of the cat people and the chaotic and ugly social chaos make "I" desperate; the various systems of the Cat Country are fundamentally corrupt, and the invasion of foreign troops has accelerated the collapse of the Cat Country. "I" witnessed the demise of the cat people and finally returned to the earth… This story uses black humor to allude to the state of the Republic of China. It has a meaning that transcends the times to a certain extent, and is unique among many of Lao She”s novels.
