<br />Barbara Yurtdas wurde 1937 in Leipzig geboren. Sie studierte in Göttingen und München Germanistik, Slawistik und Geschichte. Mit ihrem türkischen Ehemann und den beiden Söhnen lebte sie zwölf Jahre lang in der Türkei, vorwiegend in Izmir. Seit 1993 wohnt sie wieder in München, wo sie bis Juli 2001 an einem Gymnasium als Studiendirektorin arbeitete. Barbara Yurtdas ist vor allem als Sachbuchautorin für Türkei-Themen bekannt. Sie hat auch mehrere Romane über deutsch-türkische Beziehungen geschrieben und zwei Lyrikbände herausgebracht. Mitgliedschaft im Verband Deutscher Schriftsteller (VS), in der Künstlerinnenvereinigung GEDOK und im Therese-Literaturverein.
