Functional Pragmatics and Pedagogy of the Oppressed. Their Similarities and Chances for Teaching 

Scientific Essay from the year 2022 in the subject Didactics for the subject German – Pedagogy, Linguistics, University of Hildesheim (Interkulturelle Kommunikation), language: English, abstract: This paper outlines the similarities between Paulo Freire’s ideas on the Pedagogy of the Oppressed and the research results on the Functional Pragmatics by Konrad Ehlich and Jochen Rehbein. It will also examine how both theories are related, connected with each other, what meaning they have for and on teaching, and how its results can be therefore positively used together to get the maximum chances for improving and transforming our teaching. This paper proposes one particular way to do so and gives insights into another perspective on teaching.

Samantha Joanna Marzinzik studierte von 2012 bis 2016 im Bachelor "Internationale Kommunikation und Übersetzen" an der Universität Hildesheim, Deutschland. 2019 hat sie den Master in "Sprachwissenschaft und Interkultureller Kommunikation" an der Universität Hildesheim abgeschlossen mit dem Schwerpunkt Da F/Da Z-Lehre. Seit Herbst 2020 ist sie als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin an der Universität Hildesheim im Institut für Interkulturelle Kommunikation tätig mit dem Schwerpunkt auf Lehre. Ihre Spezialgebiete sind Da F/Da Z (Deutsch als Fremdsprache / Deutsch als Zweitsprache), Funktionale Pragmatik (FP), Rassismus-, Whiteness- und Diskriminierungsforschung, Fremdsprachenlehre, Interkulturalität, Interkulturelle Kommunikation u.ä.
