About the author

Suraya is originally from Cape Town and a mixture between the colonisers and the colonised. The confusion of her existence has motivated her to first get her DNA done and now living her life traveling through the footsteps of her ancestors from Indonesia and the Netherlands to Kimberley and Cape Town. She has a Bachelors of Education (Teaching Degree), a Post Grad Educational Leadership Diploma, A Montessori Diploma and an Exercise Teachers Diploma. She is currently busy with her Masters Thesis in Education, a long time passion of Suraya Esau. She was motivated to write this children’s book so children from Cape Town can learn from an early age their place in the world.
