Helene Tello ist Restauratorin und betreute über 20 Jahre die indianischen Sammlungen im Ethnologischen Museum der Staatlichen Museen zu Berlin. Sie forscht seit langem zur Kontamination und Dekontamination von Kunst- und Kulturgütern durch Alt-Biozide. Mit der vorliegenden Arbeit wurde sie an der Europa-Universität Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder) promoviert.
