Katharina Afflerbach machte Karriere bei Kreuzfahrtreedereien und einer Hotelkette. Viele Dienstreisen und Überstunden bestimmten ihren Alltag, und über Milch wusste sie nicht viel mehr, als dass sie aus der Tüte kommt. Ein ehrenamtlicher Einsatz auf einem Bergbauernhof änderte alles. Sie kündigte Job, Wohnung und Yogakurs in Köln, um auf die Alp zu gehen.
