The book The History of Criticism of the Red School is the final result of the National Philosophy and Social Science Fund project "The History of Criticism of the Red School" (13BZW035). Professor Zhao Jianzhong of Tianjin Normal University cuts in from the perspective of the Red School and combines its academic origins. He conducted a systematic inspection, sorting and summary on the evolution of the origin, academic philosophy, rise and fall, merits and demerits, gain and loss of the Criticism School, Inscription School, Zajuan School, Suoyin School, Textual Research School, Social History Criticism, Aesthetic Criticism, and Exploration School since the publication of A Dream of Red Mansions. He examines the historical and cultural background of their rise and the reasons for their ups and downs from multiple perspectives, and makes forward-looking summaries. He also discusses the authenticity of the last forty chapters, the cultural research and text interpretation of A Dream of Red Mansions, and then reflects on the red study research paradigm in the new era. It has great theoretical value and constructive significance for the construction of the new critical vision of contemporary red study.
