Ted Nichols retired from banking in 2012 after a 42 year career that was primarily spent in the small business lending area. He is now a consultant to small business owners providing guidance and assistance with their business and financial plans. Ted was attracted to the personal aspect of the small business market. He welcomed the opportunity to help small business owners by structuring loans that met the financial needs of their businesses. He had the opportunity to participate in their business planning and became familiar with both their business and personal goals. Ted was a manager of several small business lending units with responsibility for loan portfolio management and growth. He trained and mentored the bank’s junior lending officers. He also was a senior credit officer in a business banking department of a large regional bank with the authority to approve all of the small business loan requests in the bank.
