Rising from that humble beginning, Darron F. Allen Sr. joined the New York City Police Department and advanced to the rank of lieutenant, served sixteen years, and then retired in the wake of an injury suffered in the line of duty.
Seeking direction for the next chapter of his life, he served in his local church and received a calling to become a pastor. He coupled education with service, earning a bachelors degree and a doctoral degree as aids in his ministry. Consecrated and ordained as an apostle, he founded a church in Newark, New Jersey.
As he tells the story of his life, Apostle Allen entwines his own history with spiritual insights that offer guidance for others who desire to understand the Christian faith and to follow its callings in their own lives. Darron F. Allen Sr., born in Harlem, earned a bachelor’s degree from St. Paul’s Bible Institute and a doctoral degree from St. Thomas Christian College. The founding pastor of the Temple of Salvation & Deliverance Church in Newark, New Jersey, he retired from the New York City Police Department after sixteen years.
