To satisfying both philosophy and poetry is difficult. In the same person, logic seems to be incompatible with Muse. They often interfere and conflict each other. But this kind of conflict is not obvious on Nietzsche. Nietzsche’s philosophy is not the philosophy of abstract thinking, but a poetic philosophy, and his poetry is full of philosophy. Therefore, the two elements themselves have internal consistency.Nietzsche has never published his poems as a collection. The poems collected in the book of Samtliche Gedichte are mostly selected by the translator from the octavo of the Nietzsche Werke, and most of them are Nietzsche’s poems created in his prime.Among them, Jokes, Tricks and Vengeance and The Song of the Prince Without the Crown are translated from the Vol. 5, which were published as a prologue and an appendix to the book The Gay Science during Nietzsche’s lifetime.Eulogy of the Dionysus, Zarathushtra’s Mottos and Songs" and most of the poetical works in Lyric Poetry and Gnomic Poetry are translated from Vol. 8, all of which were published after Nietzsche died.In the Addendum, six of Nietzsche’s early poems and eight later poems scattered in each volume or other books were collected, and.After many years, the translator bought a more complete German version of Samtliche Gedichte, which was compiled and arranged by others, and selected and complementarily translated fifteen pieces from it, so that the whole book includes two hundred and ninety-six poems, thus becoming a relatively complete Chinese version of the Samtliche Gedichte.Nietzsche’s poems are unique in the latter half of the nineteenth Century in Germany, which appears to be remarkable, and has a great influence on the new romantic poetry of later Gu olive, Rilke and Hesse.
