Transformation of Taoism in Tang and Song Dynasties 

Guided by historical materialism and with reference to the research results of the "reforms in Tang and Song Dynasties" in the international Sinology community in the past century, the book discusses about the development of Taoism in the politics, economy and culture of the Tang and Song Dynasties, compares the similarities and differences between Taoism in Tang Dynasty and that in Song Dynasty by connecting the "transformation" in narrow sense and Taoism in Tang and Song Dynasties in broad sense, and makes an academic analysis on the reasons of transformation of Taoism in Tang and Song Dynasties, with an aim to better explain the universality for the simultaneous development between Taoism in Tang and Song Dynasties and Chinese history and demonstrate the peculiarity of personality features and development path with "Tao" as the basic faith.The Taoism ushered in a climax in the Tang and Song Dynasties, which paved the way to a further development in Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. The influence of its transformation on the development of Chinese Taoism and even Chinese traditional culture has continued until today, which provided a modern perspective for the research on the transformation of Taoism in Tang and Song Dynasties.
