One of the series of "Chinese Cultural Relics Restoration and Cultural Heritage" is He Repairs Timepieces at the Palace Museum. It describes the history of China and its culture through beautiful pictures and concise text. It also describes how the magic man clock came to be in the Forbidden City during the reign of Emperor Daoguang and Mr. Qi Haonan’s "time repairer" experience and how Mr. Qi spent more than half a year working on the magic man clock there. It is a tale impressed by a cultural artifact. We hope to instill in youngsters a valuable sense of tenacity and perseverance as artisans by sharing the tale of how the clock was fixed. These individuals who are prepared to experience loneliness have finished cultural artifacts and perpetuated China’s history and culture.
