Sir William Robertson Nicoll (1851-1932), born in Scotland, was a minister, editor, and author. He founded the influential British Weekly as well as The Bookman. A prolific writer on literary and religious subjects, his works include The Day Book of Claudius Clear (1905), The Problem of “Edwin Drood” (1912), and Prayer in War Time (1916).
