Walter surprises that there is resemblance between Laura and the woman in white known as Anne Catherick. In spite of her love to Walter Laura marries to Sir Percival Glyde as she promised to her dying father. After six months of her marriage Clyde with Fosco conspirates against Laura to steal her inheritance. Story takes sensational turn Laura and Anne's places were exchanged. After persisting efforts of Walter and Marian the truth revealed, Laura's identity proved and Glyde and Fosco are killed and in the end Walter marries to Laura.
